The Enos Brooks house was the highlight of the 2016 Trolley Tour.

The new booklet describing the  Trolley Tour of the south end of town is now available for purchase: Tour of South Brooksvale and More.  The book describes some of the historically significant homes and places that were on the 2016 Trolley Tour of this area!  Included are descriptions of the 1733 Enos Brooks house, Northeastern Forestry Company, Cheshire Nursery, school houses of old, oyster keg mills, Herb Strand’s home and farm and many other fascinating places!  

Cost of the book is $10 and is for sale at the Cheshire Historical Society during open hours.  Orders can also be placed by sending a check made out to “Cheshirepedia” and mailed to: Chesirepedia, Inc., PO Box 433, Cheshire, CT 06410.

  1. If the Trolley Tour scheduled for the South End of Town is anything like the one from the last two years we had the privilege to partake in, then it is an absolute “must see” event.
    I do like my photo of the trolley, if I say so myself.

  2. It was my privilege to be a friend to Dr. Burke. When he visited Cheshire in the last years of his life, he stayed with us. He was a fine person and I will always miss him. God rest his holy soul. Patricia.

  3. I was fortunate enough to know Dr. Burke personally. He stayed with us when in Cheshire during his last years, Unfortunately, he had a fatal condition that ended his life. I will always remember this fine gentleman and mourn his passing to this day.
